For God so loved Dunedin
That He sent Jesus

Who is Jesus?

Perhaps the most important and most neglected question that anyone can ask themselves is "who is Jesus"? It doesn't take much to realise that Jesus was/is an important person. Our very calendar literally testifies to this fact, history is defined by the years before Jesus and after Jesus.

Jesus remains the most talked about, written about, thought about, person in human history. Currently over 2 billion people in the world claim to be followers of Jesus.

Jesus was God become man, the exact perfect representation of a loving God (Hebrews 1:3)

His mission was simple, to live the life we couldn't live, and die the death we should have died. That's why his name Jesus literally translates to God saves

Salvation Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus

I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God
That he lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and was raised to life
I acknowledge that I am a sinner, in need for mercy and forgiveness
I accept the grace of Jesus who paid the price for my sins at the cross
I accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour
I commit to following you Jesus for all my days
I ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit
I declare that today I am cleansed of all my sin and brokenness and that I am a child of God
Thank you Jesus for saving me

Amen

  • Read the Bible

Everything that Christians believe and think can be found in the pages of the Holy Bible, (sometimes referred to as Scripture or The Word of God).

  • Get water baptised

The Christian church since its inception has invited people to make a decision to follow Jesus, and to make this decision publicly through the ritual of water baptism.

  • Come to church

When you think of church you may have images of formal ceremonies and gothic buildings. However church is not an institution, building, or event. Rather church is a family, a community of people who love Jesus and each other. One of the ways the church of Jesus demonstrates that love is by gathering together.
